Overview

A 4-hour half-day — out on the road in a vintage Yugo, through socialist-era Belgrade, ending at the site of the former Chinese Embassy bombed in 1999. A memory-driven tour designed for the Chinese-speaking market.

Yugo Old-Car + Red Belgrade + 1999 Embassy Site Half-Day Tour

Highlights

Vintage Yugo Zastava: the people’s car of 1980s–90s Yugoslavia (Zastava 101 family) — a living artefact of socialist industrialisation. Ride and photograph; an optional short self-drive segment is available at extra cost.

New Belgrade brutalist architecture: a concrete cityscape of Yugoslav-era state projects — a serious draw for architecture students, design enthusiasts, and anyone with a feel for the period.

Tito’s tomb — the House of Flowers: the resting place of Yugoslavia’s lifelong president, with the political iconography of the 1980s left intact — a memory anchor for older Chinese visitors who grew up watching Yugoslav films.

Site of the former Chinese Embassy bombed in 1999: the location, in New Belgrade, of the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy on 7 May 1999, in which Shao Yunhuan, Xu Xinghu and Zhu Ying were killed. The original embassy stood at 3 Tresnjinog Cveta. We pay our respects on site and offer factual historical context.
